Thanks to everyone making the jump over from Tapatalk. I built this site to fill a void and give the Chicago area a reliable place to talk youth hockey after seeing how restrictive the old platform had become.
This forum is completely custom-built from the ground up. When exploring existing forum software, nothing quite checked the right boxes—specifically, allowing fully anonymous posts while keeping hosting costs low enough that I wouldn't have to plaster the site with obnoxious ads.
The goal is to provide a friction-free space where we can discuss the sport without the hassle of logging in or the fear of attribution. I do ask that everyone tries to keep things civil, even with the cloak of anonymity.
Because this is a custom build, you might encounter a few quirks. If something isn't working as expected, please drop a note via https://chicagohockeyforum.com/#feedback.
Additionally, I’ll be rolling out a notifications feature in the next few days so you can get alerts for new posts and replies without constantly refreshing the page. That feature in particular might have some bumps early on, but I'll be actively refining it over the coming weeks.
Happy posting!
