OG bookie checking in! Looking at the league and how interesting it’s become this season I’m ready to make a return and give my thoughts on all the fun that lies ahead this year for our 2014 superstars! Stay tuned fellow 14 bettors, parents, and lurkers. I’ll leave you this last note so you know it’s the OG.
The Tupaes are back in the league!
I still have a failing OF if anyone was wondering.
Temu Bookie was a fraud.
I’m back to make 2014 hockey great again!
The real Chi-Town BooKIE over and out!
It is still early in the season to tell who will be the dominate team. I do feel like this season is different. It would appear anyone can win on any given day no matter who it is. Then again, that can all change once certain teams lock in. Should be an interesting season that's for sure. There is no need to beat up on a guy who does predictions on 12 year old's playing hockey. I enjoy the predictions and story lines from week to week, keep them coming.
All right folks here we go! Chi-Town BooKIE tapping in. Open up your wallets and your hearts because the one and only is making his Return! No you crazies put your wallets away! I know you’re a hockey parent of a CS kid when I say jokingly open up your wallets and 3/4 of you started reaching! Just kidding!!! But do go subscribe to my OF @Chi-Town BooKIE (sorry had to plug it! Literally 😛) I’ve Been lurking the 2014s threads since I took a step back and let the Temu bookie try making picks and then a fraudster try to take over as the OG and fail. So let’s start off with why am I back? Nothing serves us hockey parents better than a little speculation right? Was my son cut from CS so I had to move to the prospect thread? Did my son’s team lose CS? Did our hockey director sleep with my wife and leave me in divorce and more time on my hands? Are we back from AAA after a dumpster fire of a season? Let the speculation begin! Teams have changed quite a bit that’s one thing we can all agree on, contenders seem to be no more, bottom feeders maybe got some imports. It’s going to be a fun one. That you can count on. On with the pics!…. See what I did there?
16 games on the BooKIEs book for the weekend. Lots of questions will be answered, lots of questions will remain. So LFG
Knights vs Hawks
Hawks are back after a prospect season and the knights were once a powerhouse in the birth year. A quick roster check of the knights looks like they lost coach Dick-in-man aka Rickerman. Hawks are showing early that they belong here and after road legs I have the hawks winning here 3-1
Blues vs Sting
Two future basement dwellers so it seems battle here. What happened to the once dominant blues? The Bumble bees are still licking their wounds after an 0-4 trip up to the big city. I’m seeing the blues after a long trip down knock off the baby bees here. Sting may have added a little to the roster but by the scores last weekend the sting are still without their stinger. Just an annoying little bee buzzing around the cs 14 birthyear. Blues win 5-2
Wilmette vs eagles
Wilmette always a powerhouse and this is the first action we will see of the eagles this year who we know nothing about. Do the eagles soar? Does the trevian ….. eh who cares what a trevian does. Only trevians do. I’m seeing a pretty good game here but a 4-2 win for the Wilmette machine.
Knights vs Sabres
We will call this the sword fight! Whose sword is longer here! Someone mentioned the Sabres lost their goalie to the clones is that true? If so it’s looking like another rough ride for the Sabres this season. I have the rested knights winning here 4-1
Blues vs sting round 2!
After a nice video session at the local best western in the Lou watching blues daddy YouTube broadcast I expect the beating to be worse in round 2. blues start to get back on track this weekend after dropping the first few 5-0 blues win.
Vipers vs cyclones
Both teams here coming off tough seasons at peewee minor and both off to a good start. Two very unknown teams here so it’s a toss up. Vipers off to a 3-0 start looking down on everyone but let’s be real the snakes played the basement dwellers so that doesn’t say much. The clones took tied the tupaes and beat a playoff team last year in the leafs. I’m seeing more of a similar season for the clones as years past and I’m going to take them to win 3-1 over the snakes. No way can the snakes start 4-0
Leafs vs Vikings
From the looks of it the leafs Bench got a little lighter this season. in terms of coaching and players. Coaching by a lot (if ya know what I mean here) and players by a little. Vikings also look lighter in terms of players as someone speculated above so more unknowns for this one. But for a professional this is an easy pic. Vikings chew on the leaves and win here 6-2
Knights vs hawks round 2!
A good Knights rest for the knights after a very very small sword fight with the other sword wielding crazies I have the knights coming out on top and clipping the wings of the hawks here. Knights win 3-1 and flip the script
Jets vs Winnetka
The Tupaes are back! Aren’t we excited 2014 land? Wait is that guy still coaching? Who’s played them? I must know by next week if captain Tupae is still steering the Winnetka ship over there! Give me the scouting report Jets parents. After a years Histus from birth year hockey we have Winnetka back to play a once struggling jets team who found some success and are now in playoff pictures every season. No scouting report on these teams has come to me deak yet so we are going to go with what we know from the past. Jets are going to buzz the tower here and send that Tupae flying! Jets win 3-1
Wilmette vs sting
Not much changing here the the busy bees are still buzzing everywhere without that stinger besides the ice. Wilmette wins 5-0
Blues vs eagles round 2
After another YouTube video review and listening to their parents complain about coaching all night the blues will be singing the blues again as the eagles soar high and get their first win of the season in this one eagles shut out the blues here 3-0
Jets vs Vikings (game of the week?)
Jets still looking stout and the Vikings are just known to be good. This ones could be a barn burner ladies and gents. Tune in live to watch this madness unfold for your BooKIE game of the week! Looking forward to this one I’ve heard a lot of chatter in Viking land and the jets are just proven in years past. I’m going to pick an OT win here for the Vikings and lots of excuses and complaints from the jets about rough housing. Maybe we get a clip of it all unfolding! Don’t think I didn’t see that last year jets daddy. Put the phone away this time and enjoy the kids playing. He’s not going to the nhl and you look like a d bag posting every highlight to your fb wall.
Wilmette vs eagles round 2
I’m looking for an upset here and the eagles handing their first loss of the season to Wilmette after a nice home cooked breakfast for the soaring eagles! Wilmette kids will be up to late with parents hungover dreading the drive back to the big city in their land rovers and G wagons. I’m going to give this one to the eagles 3-2 over the powerhouse of the trevian.
Express vs cyclones
Cyclones will be swirling high after a win over the vipers but they will have lost some rotation by the time the choo choos roll into Fox valley. The only thing the clones have to look forward to is they won’t have to hear that stupid horn when express dominates them. Express win here 5-1
Vipers vs Sabres
Vipers hungry to get back on track after realizing they weren’t the team they thought they were before getting swirled up by the clones and the Sabres still recovering from the miniature sword fight that they could barely reach with knights I have an easy pic here with vipers winning 4-1.
Leafs vs Winnetka
Tupaes vs the leaves! What a battle this could be! Two very evenly matched teams in my book. We’re still learning about both teams here in the next few weeks but the season is changing and the fall weather and pumpkin spice is upon us. I’m going to take the leaves to fall to the warriors here 3-1. Just because the leaves bench is lighter “quite literally” doesn’t mean they skate faster! That will finish our weekend off and leaving us with much more to talk about next week!
It’s good to be back in all my glory I hope you all enjoy the time it takes to do this and can reward me with a subscribe or 2 to that OF I’m always plugging. Gotta keep this boy in hockey somehow and my claw toe feet pics on feet finder dot com wasn’t the ticket so I’m relying on you all! On a serious note. This is all for fun, Keep your wallets in your pockets, and your swords in their sheaths. Your comments and chatter about the games at hand is rewarding enough and I look forward to the banter we can all have in good fun this season. If there’s any insider info you would like to hear more on share away! We all got connections and can dig together! Good luck this weekend and safe travels to everyone!
The one and only Chi-Town BooKIE over and out!
Only a D-Bag is going to care or try and figure out where the bookie is from. It’s the only entertaining part of this forum. And nobody is going to accurately predict shit this year. Much more even league and the bad teams will have a good day and upset the good ones. “Money Lost” needs to learn some manners.
Week 2 Predictions:
Jets 4 - Sting 2: Car legs make a Friday night win difficult for the Sting
Cyclones 4 - Leafs 2: Every game is a must win when the scores are this tight, and the Cyclones get a rebound win at home against the Leafs
Vipers 5 - Sting 4: Rematch of an OT game at Howie's, and the edge goes to the home team who doesn't have the brutal travel schedule
Vikings 5 - Falcons 1: Tough to predict as both teams open their season, but Vikings are surely the strong favorite here
Sting 5 - Vipers 2: 0-2 on the weekend with a tough Sunday matchup to follow, Sting find the energy to knock off the Vipers
Express 5 - Hawks 1: Not sure how good this Hawks team is, but Express is cruising even against good teams
Hawks 3 - Blues 2: The blues continue for the Blues, as the reality of this depleted roster sets in
Cyclones 4 - Sabres 3: Lots of close games in Week 1, and this Week 2 matchup is likely more of the same
Wilmette 7 - Sting 1: The best part of this game for the Sting will be getting back to STL by bedtime
Vipers are going to have a much better year.
Not a Cyclones parent, but they picked up the Sabres goalie, the one that kept the Sabres in games. So now they two decent goalies which could take them far into playoffs.
Supposedly picked up some players from TI, but heard that last season and look how that turned out.

Express don't look like the same team anymore. Will they make CSDHL playoffs? What is happening?
Express going to semi-finals, what are you talking about?
Cyclones and Jets also made semi-finals. Express winning in all, just watch.
Express are taking the championship for sure. Cyclones #2
Wilmette will struggle without their top goalie and multiple AAA exits. They couldn't get a win over the Capitols in their first 2 games.
*Sabres lost both games to Sting.
Here are the remainder of the games missed from previous post..
Express 7 - Falcons 1 Express are coming off a marginal win against the Blues last week showing they are still a potential powerhouse. Falcons trying to revive themselves after being sent to prospects last season. Falcons playing their first league game will struggle, even with the rumored 2015 super star.
Winnetka 2 - Vikings 6 Winnetka is coming off a tie to the Cyclones which is impressive but it is still early to tell if all the hype is legit for the Cyclones. They also dropped one 2-0 last week to the Leafs who also have something to prove this season. Vikings are playing their first games this weekend. They showed they are a solid team in the stretch last season after being crowned champions. Vikings will come out ready for blood.
Leafs 3 - Jets 4 Leafs are coming off a 2-0 win last week against Winnetka. Jets are coming off a 1-1 tie against the Hawks another team trying to return from the depths. This one will be a battle with the Jets edging the Leafs in the end.
Well the poster asked what was happening with the hawk 14s. Tried to give a solid explanation. Just so happens the 3 families that wanted a new scene ended up at the Hawks. No one was recruited.
Blues do have many reasons to be pretty unhappy right now 😳
That went well for the Hawks
YIKES!!!
Contenders vs Pretenders
Looking at the goal differential, and we can clearly see a pattern emerging.
Falcons, Blues, Sting, and Winnetka are all in the bottom four in the negatives for goal differential. Where the top seven Contenders are all in the positives for goal differential.
Now the Hawks, Leafs, and Cyclones are right there for an even differential, and will more than likely battling it out for the last playoff spot.
Looks as though the Vipers have come to play this year, or is it just a better coach trying to out coach the basic dad coaches. Once everyone else notices that they like to take the puck behind their net and hit the forward in full stride in the middle. Things may become a challenge for them.
Still, it’s a LONG way to go till playoffs. We’ll only have to deal with these Falcons and Winnetka parents for this season before they and their money is sent packing to the prospect division.
I think GD is something to look at maybe a little later in to the season, but its hard now with so few games played. Schedules are uneven and since some team blew the Falcons or Winnetka away early on while another team had a hard match up against better teams, GD can be a little all over the place. Certainly some teams are already standing out, but I think its still too close to call and could benefit from seeing another month of matchups.

I think the question is going to be - which teams lost kids to AAA this season and which picked up some AAA bubble kids? Not looking good for the Express and Vikings this year as far as I understand how things ended up. Vikings might be ok, but Express... going to be a rough one for them.
You don't have a clue do you
Does someone know for each club who made the jump and where they went? Anyone have access to the top 10 point producers from the league so we can check the rosters?
Express
Unlike past seasons, I don't think we will see the parity this BY always had - where any team could win any game. The gaps between AA and AAA for 2014 was always smaller than other BY's, but lots of teams finally lost key players to the jump to AAA, and others jump ship and used their second choice for greener pastures in CSDHL. As a whole, some better teams have become average, very few actually made improvements, and some weak teams joined back into the mix. I expect their to be 1-3 teams that are in a tier of their own, 3-4 teams that probably should be in prospects, and everyone else is in the murky middle.
Who got better?
Leafs and Vipers both may have added 1 or 2 fine players, nothing to take them from slightly below average last season to above average this season. Both have big hills to climb to become important. Leafs will be a bubble team again, and not sure Vipers have done enough to jump out of the basement.
Cyclones may be the only team who made significant improvements. Added some AAA players and some who came from other clubs, including having 2 quality goalies instead of just 1. Could see them jump big in the standings from last season, where their record against the top teams was somehow better than against the bottom teams.
Who got worse?
Blues, Vikings and Express we all consistently top of class for the past couple of seasons - and all have lost key players, some of them being goalies too. Each of them could be "fine" on their best day and I doubt they will get blown out, but all have definitely stepped back.
Sabres lost significant pieces from what was previously a "meh" group that missed the playoffs last season just happened to win some tournaments. A couple went AAA and the goalie moved to Cyclones. Expect them to have a tough season.
Who invited them?
Not sure why CS needed Falcons or Winnetka again. They were out of their league a couple of years ago and I don't expect them to fair much better now that they are back. Time will tell.
Hawks may be okay coming back. Not contenders at all, but could be in that middle pack.
Any news?
Not sure if Wilmette did anything, but they have always been the deepest and most consistent. Expect them to repeat being a competitive team this season.
Jets may or may not have added. Not expecting any big changes to a team that overachieved last season.
The St Louis teams will be a wild card. They pull from such large pools of players that they could change significantly from one season to the next. Chances are they are similar to last season, but after the Howie's tourney we will know for sure.
Prediction for standings:
Wilmette
Cyclones
Knights
Express
Vikings
Blues
Sting
Eagles
Hawks
Leafs
Jets
Vipers
Winnetka
Falcons
Sabres
STL def a wild card but no way all three make playoffs.
Taking the championship in what?
They won the same tournament the 2014 Sabres won last year, and look how their season went.
The league and state championship run through Wilmette.
One of the goalies was cut, no? Why would they cut their top goalie??
Capitals are having more success so far this season than the Admirals. Hanging tough the Caps for two games is a positive sign for Wilmette.

Didn’t think I’d have to spell it out, but here you go. Do you notice any names that appear on both the Falcons board and the CS board?
