First year making the jump from CUHL Mite half-ice to full-ice Squirt Minor for the 2017 birth year.
Who is looking strong heading into the season?

Honestly at this age it just comes down to which kids pick up full-ice positioning the quickest. Fun age group to watch!
Hawks, Falcons, and Glenview usually have deep Squirt Minor groups. The first month of full-ice offsides is always an adventure.
Chargers, Vikings, and Vipers looked pretty fast in pre-season scrimmages too. Wide open race this early.
JETS play half ice until Bantam Major.
Wilmette lóst top kid who scored 51 goals last year (42% of team goals), top 3 in D1A Wilmette, Winnetka, Sabres, should be interesting this year
Winnetka

SHOTS FIRED
I think you mean Wilmette their buddy.
Most/all of these kids have played full ice hockey for at least two seasons. Who the hell was playing half ice in travel hockey for mites in Illinois?
RinkRat99 must have last had a kid playing hockey in 1999 when maybe they were still doing half ice?
Wilmette all the way! Its going to be another 2015 year!

We will see, anything goes at this age.

LOL NO ONE
The Black Bears and Blues were both D1A teams in Mite last year and now have no CS representation. What’s up with that? Where did they all go?
Hawks/Phantoms and Falcons were both D1B. Don’t think there’s any reason to believe those teams are better than the North Shore teams or Sabres.

Blues prefer to only have birth year teams at the Major level. Not sure why, but that's how it was last season.
Interesting! Seems like it would be tough to put together Major rosters without a Minor team. Would love to know the story.
Black Bears will never get a BY team plus they went 1-17 and the team blew up, most kids went to AAA
1-17 in D1A though. Plenty of D1B teams who were mid to awful last year with CS representation this season. That being said, if the team blew up that would make it hard.
Black Bears should get CS for having Gus alone. One of the best coaches in Chicagoland area.
I agree but he can't coach beyond Mites
Why is that?
The one C coach is pretty good, the other chocked at pw minor. More bs connections
They’re still top three after losing 42% of their goals? I don’t doubt it, but that seems like a big hit.
Gus schlub I’m a Director from Storm?
